Awards

Ah Monday, my childless day. It's so lovely to have a day to yourself to do the things you enjoy doing without little hands trying to "help". So nice, and then so nice to have them back again this afternoon :)

Today is the last day to get your entries in for the CC at CIS. Have a go at my sketch challenge and all the other challenges the girls put up.

Next weekend, from 19 December till 22 December, we'll be having a Chrissy inspired CC at Scrapboutique. I'll put up a thread very soon where I'll be asking for 3 ingredients for the Sunday Roast...

Last night I put up the last sketch for the Christmas Album that was part of our Christmas workshops at ScrapBoutique. It was full on but so much fun!!

I took this photo last weekend. It wasn't easy getting them all to smile and look at the camera at the same time. This one was the nicest one, I think it's very cute so I've turned it into our Christmas card for this year. :) I also used the photo to show case some of the gorgeous K&CO Christmas papers for ScrapBoutique. The papers are so yummy, lovely glitters and shiny bits and the corrugated card is so so nice!! All the Chrissy papers are on special so go and get yourself a bargain.

The lovely Chimene send me this award

Got Sketch!

The girls from Got Sketch asked me to make an example for a sketch they created. They asked me to make an 8.5 x 11 sized L. I love that size so it was all good. I really like how it turned out. They also have a mini sketch class on, for free, so go on and sign up!!!

I think I mentioned that I made the December Daily album which was inspired by Ali Edwards? Well here is the result. I've been good and added some pics everyday so far, it's fun. I used to do a daily album for everyday but that was a bit much. Love looking through it though and reading all the stories!! Might start a weekly one in the new year.... Anyway here it is..

My girls saw Santa (again) on Tuesday. This one was in Myer. I did not go there intentionally but they loved this Santa!! They sat with him and he was singing them songs so we had a photo taken...(they are both smiling here woohoo!!!!)

At CIS I've put the new Monthly title challenge up... it's all about getting down and dirty... hehe... go on and play with us!!! Have a look what it's all about here...

Ally also has lots of stuff on sale so check that out while you're there and we have a fun weekend challenge on as well, might as well check that one out too hey!!

We have some great new challenges up at ScrapBoutique this month so go and check those out!!

I hope every one is enjoying the Mini album for the Santa worskhops??
Hope you all have a lovely weekend... I have something fun to reveal on Sunday ;)

Happy scrapping :)

Summertime....

Yes summer has started on this side of the world. A beautiful (but windy) day to start of this lovely season. I'm having my "scrapday" today... cricket on in the background. Nice one! Today is also the start for the daily album. Ali Edwards inspired me (and plenty of other scrapper) to start a December daily album. I haven't totally finished the construction of the album yet but as soon as I'm finished on here I'm going to finish that!!

I might have to add a photo from 29 of November though.. We went to Allan's works kiddies Christmas park down at the lake. We were so lucky that it was a dry afternoon after all the glorious rain we've had. The girls had a lovely time. Ruby loved Santa but Lucy was a little scared. Luckily for Lucy she has a big sisters who doesn't mind going to Santa to ask for a lollie for her little sister as well. Too cute!!

Here are some pictures of the day...

This last photo is Ruby all excited after her little chat with Santa.

I have found this Dutch site which I think is a Dutch equivalent of facebook, it's called hyves. I've found quite a few of my old Dutch friends and family on it. Friends and cousins that I haven't seen in years and years. Even way before we moved to Australia. It's so lovely to meet them again!!

*Waving* Hi to all my old and newly found friends and family!!!

Next weekend (starting 11th December) we have our monthly cybercrop at CIS called.... "Making a list... checking it twice". And no, it's not really about Christmas... but you'll have to come and join in to find out...

You have to sign up to the forum first. If you don't know how it works just send me an email and I'll invite you!!

We're also still in full swing with our Santa workshops at ScrapBoutique. This week and next week we are working on our mini album. Fun!!

Anyway... some scrappy updates...

This one was for the ScrapBoutique stylist December Challenge

The 2 above were for the ScrapBoutique CC a week ago.

I've done some more work but can't show that (yet).

Enjoy summer :)

Happy Scrapping!!

Beach bums

It's so good to be beach bums for a few days. We had a lovely time down the coast. The first 4 days we were there having family time and on the weekend friends with their kids arrived to have some fun all together. So on the weekend we were there with 13 people in total, good fun!!

We mostly spend our time on the beach walking, playing, looking for sea shells and jumping in the waves. It is just the best place to spend a holiday I reckon (hey I'd prefer to live somewhere along the coast but that's just not possible now unfortunately...).

I thought I'd share a few of my favourite pics that I took. (The girls are wearing the dresses I bought specifically for photo's.. I didn't tell Al this of course hehe).

LOL, it seems the only pics I have of Chris is where he is very serious doing something (and not noticing me taking a pic, having fun and laughing with his sisters or silly ones like this one where he is being silly for the camera *sigh* teenagers :)

I did not scrap at all while we were away. I did take a bag with me with my tools and some DT work, but I did nothing. Which was nice for a change... but not too long :)
While I was lounging on the beach there was a Cybercrop happening at CIS. The girls were so sweet to put up my challenge (a sketch one.. thanks Karen for you help :) ) and this was my LO for it... crazy chickies!!

Ally has set up a new forum, it's gorgeous. Come and sign up here and join in the fun!!

Chels sent me these gorgeous Sassafras lass papers a little while ago and this was a LO I did with them. Just love those papers!!

The next 2 LO's are for in my BOM that I have started now that I've turned 40... The LO's were for challenges at ScrapBoutique.
The towel daily drama was Kate's challenge from last month.

And the "40" was the monthly challenge set by Chels last month.

I have set this months Stylist inspiration challenge at ScrapBoutique this month. Go and have a look and play!!
Also you can still sign up for our Santa Workshops. The packs have all sold out but you can still join in the classes for only $25!! A bargain!
Hope to see you around the forums!!
Happy Scrapping :)

Crafting In Style.....

Guess what.......... Ally picked me and Laura to be on the fabulous Crafting in Style Design Team, wooooohooooooo

Liz sms'ed me yesterday when Lucrecia and I were on the bus back from the paper craft festival in Canterbury yesterday. The ladies on the bus must have thought that I had totally lost it.. hehehe. I really love the CIS community so it will be fabulous to be working with Ally, Karen and Laura!!!

CIS has a new kind of forum, really cool. I've seen the format before and I really like it, go and check it out!!

Also, next week is the CC at CIS. I won't be there as we are going a way to the coast for a few days, woohoo!!

I couldn't wait to share the news with you, I'll do a regular update tomorrow!!

Happy scrapping!!

snakes and birthdays :)

Lucy and I swapped birthdays this year. I had my party on hers and she on mine. We did it this year as I turned 40 (yeah yeah...ancient I know hehe) so I had a party for my birthday after years of not really having a party.

But first Lucy her birthday.
Lucy had a bit of a party at day care on Monday. We brought an ice cream cake in and they got Ruby in the group when they sang happy birthday to Lucy. Lucy her teacher took some piccies for me:)

My little darling turned 3 this year!! What happened to my little baby girl?? She was a little upset that my "birthday" was before hers but we still gave her some pressies in the morning. So on her party day she unpacked the rest of her pressies. The biggest pressie she got was a little kitchen. She always loves playing with them at other people's houses and it was half prize! She loved it! After taking Chris to school and some preparing for her party the little miss had her first ever swimming lesson together with Ruby. They were the only 2 kids in the group (so cool). The teacher was in the water with them and did all fun water things with them. Both girls had a lovely time!
We then headed back home to ice the cupcakes (they had to be pink of course) and we started cooking the lunch.

Great timing, the lunch was all done when the kiddies came over. They all had fun eating a yummy lunch, playing some games and a doing treasure hunt.
I was so surprised with Ruby as she normally is "the following" kind of girl but during the party she organised all the kids playing the games she wanted and they all just did what she wanted. So nice to see another side of her!

Do you see the tags on Lucy her dress? She got the dress from one of her friends and I can already tell that it's going to be her favourite dress. It's pink and she can twirl in it, that's all the things a dress has to be (for her anyway lol). She tried the dress on and didn't take it off for 2 days in a row...
In the evening we had a nice roast dinner at home with some friends of ours with their kiddies so we had a nice fun day!
My party was on Saturday and I had such a lovely time! In the morning Allan and the kids gave me their presents. What can I say, my Allan really outdid himself!! He scanned some older photo's of me that were taken when I was around 18 / 20 years old. A dear friend of mine was a photographer and took pictured of me on a regular basis. They mean even more now because he died at away too young! Anyway, Allan scanned 4 pictures (one was with my mum), photo shopped them (he had never ever done that before) and them got them printed and framed. Wow, such a cool present!! He also gave me a new scanner/printer that I love and helped Chris to get me a new phone and the girls gave me some yum choccies!!
Later on in the morning Anita and I went to a style thingie in the mall, then Michelle came as well and they treated me to a pedicure and a lunch. What a lovely start to a birthday!!
We invited friends, family, some colleagues and neighbours to my party and it was a lovely mix of people! I was so spoiled!! Lovely flowers, vouchers, candles (and gorgeous holder) a pandora necklace with a bead and a star. My dear friend Lucrecia and I had been cooking a few days in advance all this lovely Sri Lankan food. Every one loved it!! Yay!! It was just a lovely relaxing evening! I was so happy that Drew (my stepson) and his girlfriend Melissa came over as well!
Some piccies of the party...

So all in all the parties were lovely!
I also had my first wild snake encounter last week. I went for a walk around the lake and when i came back on the concrete path again I heard some rustling behind me... about 50 cm behind me this brown snake crossed the footpath. I always thought that I would totally freak out the moment I'd meet my first "wild" snake. but I was more intrigued than anything. That he wasn't worried about me probably helped a lot though! I'm not sure if I was just extremely lucky to not have been 1 second slower or that he was waiting for me to walk past him before he crossed the path! Anyway... it was interesting :)
Because of all this partying i haven't done much scrapping. I have done a LO for ScrapBoutique but am not able to show that just yet.
Speaking of ScrapBoutique. The kits for the santa workshops are almost sold out!!! Wow, they are selling like hotcakes. If you are lucky you might be able to get one but if not you can get access to the workshops for only $25 dollars and use your own supplies! It's going to be loads of fun!!
This weekend Chels is going away to Melbourne so Kate, Liz and I have the boutique to ourselves!! We would love all of you to come and join us for our "when the cats is away" cybercrop!! We've got some great challenges, games and and prizes to give away!! Hope you'll come and join us!!
Here are my 2 LO's for this and last weeks sketch at the stylish sketch blog.

Hope to see you at the Boutique this weekend!!
Happy scrapping :)

Very soon....

In a week are 2 we will be announcing a very fun announcement at ScrapBoutique. I will announce it here at the same time so keep your eyes open :)

I'm just having an hour all to myself. Allan has taken the kids over to our friends to watch under 20's NRL final while I'm busy cooking (hehe... it's an Egyptian hotpot.... so it's just stewing away on the stove).

It's already the second week of the school holidays here in the ACT! I just can't get over how quick the holidays go!

Last week Chris had his 15th birthday! He went to the movies with some friends and we took him out to dinner in the evening. I am quite sure he had a nice day, but it's sometimes a bit hard to tell with teenagers though lol.

We still haven't been to Floriade yet!! We tried to go the Friday before the holidays but after searchign for a park for more than half an hour I had enough so instead we bought ice cream and went home.

It's sure is a busy birthday time this time of the year, Chris last week and my mum the day before him and 2 of my gorgeous scrappy friends had their birthdays too so happy birthday Liz and Mum for the 28th, Chris for the 29th and Karen for the 4th!!

Not much longer and I will be celebrating my birthday... Am not too sure how to feel about this big one. Everyone keeps saying that 40 is fantastic! Ah well, I guess it's just a number. I should count my blessings, be happy that I have already had 40 wonderful, healthy and happy years with lovely family and friends around me. So I can't complain!!! And I'm going to have a party this year... has been a very very long time since I had a birthday party for myself!!

Ok scrappy wise... First of all.... Scrapboutique has a great sale on this weekend (till Monday)... go and have a look!! I've already filled up my basket but I'm sure there's still some left for you :)
I have some Scrapboutique DT work to show you and some other LO's :)
This first one was with some 3 bugs in a rug papers

This one is with BG Offbeat. I sent it to the Basic Grey site and they accepted it for in their gallery, woohoo!!
And here a card for my mum :)

Another DT one, with K&Co. papers. This one was for Liz. I never used this paper before but I really loved working with it!!
Another K&Co one, this time it's from the Mira range.

This LO was done for this long weekends challenge at ScrapBoutique (you can find it under random challenges). Chris was jumping on the trampoline, doing the "make me a supermodel" poses. I couldn't resist. As it was around sunset I could get these almost silhouette photo's, loved the effect. All BG offbeat again.

This one was for my CC challenge last week at ScrapBoutique. Some older photo's of Ruby at Floriade. I used some RAD actions from "Totally Rad", that you could download for free, on these pics. I love the effect as it makes them look at bit "old fashioned"

The next 2 LO's are for the CISters stylish sketches!!

Don't you just love this grumpy face?
And my last project is this portfolio that I made for craft online. I really enjoyed using some old photo's for this challenge. It's all about our Dutch heritage. Only from my mum's side as I realised I have absolutely no photo's of any of my relatives from my dads side. I only have a pic of my cousin Maureen!! And that was because she was here and we took photo's of each other. Bit sad hey!!

Anyway, of to stir the pot again!!

Happy scrapping :)
